The Glee Project Archive

  • Season 1 Episode 10 Airdate: August 21, 2011 The four remaining jerk-offs enter the playpen and see that their assignment is “Don’t Stop Believin’” the classic Journey song that was featured on the very first episode of Glee. Of course the kids are very excited. “How do you not think Glee when you’re singing this song?” Lindsay asks. Um…because you think of Journey because you’re a normal person? Let’s get the facts straight here people: Glee did not make “Don’t Stop Believin’”. “Don’t Stop Believin’” MADE Glee! The kids feel the pressure, especially Damian, because he knows how much Ryan...0September 1, 2011

    The Glee Project: 110 “Glee-ality”

  • Season 1 Episode 9 Airdate: August 14, 2011 Four contestants remain. The Artie guy is the guest judge. Lindsay wins the sing-off. The challenge song is something gay and the kids have to play instruments (but not really). They are each paired off with a child from a disadvantaged school, who they will have to mentor even though none of them know anything about anything. This is Glee going for a tax write-off. In the studio, Nikki is impressed because Damian sings well for once, and hates Lindsay more than ever. Everyone is up for a last chance recital: Alex...0August 20, 2011

    The Glee Project: 109 “Generosity”

  • Season 1 Episode 8 Airdate: August 7, 2011 The guest judge is Jenna Ushkowitz, who plays Tina. The kids are always happier to have a main character stop by. The song-off is “True Colours”. At this point, I sped up the video player by 10%, which was just slow enough to allow me to understand what everyone is saying, but saved four minutes of my life. Everyone sounds slightly Chipmunky now. Hannah wins. The group number “The Only Exception” by Paramore. I have no idea who Paramore is. “This video is about that very painful feeling that almost every high...0August 10, 2011

    The Glee Project: 108 “Believability”

  • Season 1 Episode 7 Airdate: July 31, 2011 The kids enter the playpen and see “Like a Virgin” written on the board. They get really excited over it, but the kids get giddy no matter what song is written on the board. It’s weird. The kids practice sexuality, or how a bunch of young virgins understand it. Samuel rubs up on Cameron. Now this is the yaoi Glee Project’s female fans viewers have been waiting for! There were many nosebleeds across America this Sunday evening. The judges today are the guys who play Noah and Lauren. How can you not...0August 2, 2011

    The Glee Project: 107 “Sexuality”

  • Season 1 Episode 6 Airdate: July 24, 2011 I missed the first five minutes because I was getting a drink/did not want to watch The Glee Project anymore. I don’t feel like watching the part I missed in a rerun or online, so we’ll just skip to what I did see. The guy who plays Karofsky is the guest judge and he selects Marissa as the winner of the song I did not hear. Marissa is glad she won because, as she says, “It means I’m being Tenacious D.” Cameron laments that he has yet to win an opening challenge....0July 27, 2011

The Glee Project: 106 “Tenacious D”

  • Season 1 Episode 5 Airdate: July 17, 2011 Since today’s special word is “Pairability” the kids are immediately placed into pairs to sing the opening challenge, “Need You Now” by Lady NeedAWordThatSaysCountryMusic. Samuel is paired with Lindsay. He tells us it’s going to be a real challenge to pretend that he likes her. Hannah and Damian are paired up as Team Irish, and proceed to have twenty children together. Cameron and Marissa are matched together, although Cameron reminds us that he is uncomfortable with this because he is a Christian. From the sound of it, he was raised in one...0July 19, 2011

    The Glee Project: 105 “Pairability”

  • Season 1 Episode 4 Airdate: July 10, 2011 Something amazing happens at the very beginning of this episode. The voice over that tells us what happened in the previous episode actually tells us things we saw in the previous episode! No, for real! I’m surprised too! The editor for The Glee Project must be learning on the job. The guest judge is the guy who plays Other Asian. I haven’t even learned the character’s name after two years, so I am certainly not going to make space in my brain to store the actor’s name. The opening challenge is a...0July 15, 2011

The Glee Project: 104 “Dance Ability”

  • Season 1 Episode 3 Airdate: June 26, 2011 This episode begins with a voice-over (the same voice who brings us up to speed at the beginning of every Glee episode) recapping the contestant drama and bickering that has been going on, but we haven’t actually gotten to see in either of the previous episodes. The editing on this show is really horrible. Emily tells us how weird it feels for her to be the oldest contestant. She is only 22, but everyone else is 18 or 19, and anyone who has been a college senior but found themselves around freshmen...0July 4, 2011

    The Glee Project: 103 “Vulnerability”

  • Season 1 Episode 2 Airdate: June 19, 2011 The kids enter the Combat Arena and see that “Lady Gaga” written on the wall. They all get really excited over her because they are too young too know who Madonna is. There is some reality show drama as Emily calls Lindsay a phony, and Lindsay is annoying. Robert Ulrich enters and tells the kid that they will have another special guest. Matheus wonders, “Who’s it going to be, another Glee person?” Nope, it’s Ed Schultz. Actually, it’s Idina Menzel, who plays Rachel’s mother. The kids have to each sing a line...0July 4, 2011

    The Glee Project: 102 “Theatricality”

  • Season 1 Episode 1 Airdate: June 12, 2011 Remember back during the first season of Glee, when it aired right after America Idol, and consequently, a lot of people dismissed it as some dumb America Idol type show without even bothering to watch it? That was very unfair. Glee is a dumb show, but it has nothing to do with American Idol. No, The Glee Empire has its own reality TV talent competition, The Glee Project. So I guess Glee is trying to be an American Idol type show. The producers’ justification for The Glee Project is that the current...1July 4, 2011
